Skiing and winter in South Tyrol
South Tyrol has 30 ski resorts with modern lifts and perfectly prepared pistes. The majority of the ski areas are organised in two ski alliances, the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel and the Ortler ski arena. Predominantly wide and sunny slopes of every level of difficulty offer skiing fun for the whole family, for beginners, for sporty ambitious amateurs and for experts. But winter offers more than just skiing. The natural landscape of South Tyrol can be enjoyed particularly intensively during winter walking over the resting and snow-covered landscape, cross-country skiing on the sheer endless cross-country ski runs or when climbing up on touring skis or snowshoes on untouched hillsides. Tobogganing and ice skating are fun for young and old.
